Film:

After driving a cab in his hometown of New York City for 8 years in his twenties, Eric exploded on the film scene with his debut film, MY LIFE’S IN TURNAROUND, (1994, ARROW RELEASING) to rave reviews. Eric’s follow-up, IF LUCY FELL (1996) concerned 29-year-old New York therapist who, after her most recent romantic meltdown, makes a pact with her male roommate to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge if she hasn’t found love by 30. Sarah Jessica Parker, Ben Stiller, and Elle Macpherson starred alongside Eric, who wrote, directed and produced the hit romantic comedy for TRISTAR.

He fulfilled the same multi-hyphenate in his next two films: FALL (1997, MGM) and WIREY SPINDELL, (2000, WINSTAR) respectively. In Eric’s subsequent film, NEVER AGAIN, two fifty-somethings (Jill Clayburg and Jeffrey Tambor) that have sworn off falling in love again meet in a gay bar and rediscover themselves. Eric wrote and directed this romantic comedy for FOCUS FILMS. In 2002 Eric then made MIND THE GAP in 2004 starring himself, Elizabeth Reiser. Charles Parnell and Alan King.

THER’RE OUT OF THE BUSINESS is a quirky romantic comedy he made with Donal Ward, the sequel to their first film MY LIFE’S IN TURNAROUND. IFC FILMS released it theatrically in 2011.

Eric ‘s newest film AFTER FALL, WINTER, a dark, edgy romantic drama-comedy set in Paris opened theatrically in NYC Jan 2012 and FILMBUFF released it on digital platforms as well.


Television:

Eric’s first show TOO SOMETHING was on FOX in 1995. He created, starred and produced the comedy along with Donal Larnder Ward.

After starring on Mitch Hurwitz’s Everything’s Relative for NBC, Eric then created the FX original comedy series, STARVED in 2005. The show took a comedic look at the romantic and personal lives of an eating disorder support group. Eric created, wrote, directed and starred in the series.

I CAN’T BLIEVE I’M STILL SINGLE, a narrative-style documentary series (based on his 2007 Memoir,) chronicled Eric’s quest to find a wife at the age of 40. It ran for 3 seasons on Showtime. The show continues to receive great reviews and strong ratings on HULU.

GRAVITY was Eric’s most recent scripted half hour. He created it with Jill Franklyn. The Starz original series he directed, produced and starred in was on the air in 2011. It also starred Krysten Ritter, Ivan Sergei, Ving Rhames and Rachel Hunter.

As a controversial and outspoken culture critic, Eric’s thoughts have also been published in The Huffington Post, Bookslut, Salon, and other important magazines and blogs.

His work is known for it’s honest and frank discussion of human sexuality, romantic love, sexual politics and exposes the quirky sides of our lives that we all know exist but often don’t talk about… at least in public. In ERIC SCHAEFFER – LIFE COACH, his first made for the internet full length comedy series, these themes will certainly be tackled reaching both comic and poignant ends of the emotional spectrum.

Magee Clegg, Director
Magee Clegg is a Director/Producer pursuing an MFA at The USC School of CinematicArts. He began his career as a filmmaker when he traveled to India to direct a documentary about rural to urban migration titled A Box with a View. Shortly after India, Magee became a Fulbright Scholar in the Philippines where he spent one year directing Filipino Rice Policy, a documentary which explores the corrupt politics surrounding rice importation in the Philippines. While living in Manila Magee also directed music videos for Filipino rock groups as well as an HIV Awareness PSA that aired nationally on MTV ASIA. Magee has screened his work in India, Philippines,Macau, and at many festivals throughout the United States including the academy awards, qualifying Chicago International Children's Film Festival. He loves to tell stories about coming of age, family, and young love. Magee is currently developing his first narrative feature film, which follows a man from the US on a journey to Philippines to meet his father for the first time. Magee is honored to be a Subway Fresh Artist and looks forward to directing more branded content in the future.

Jenny Koreny, Producer
Jenny Koreny has been on the forefront of producing digital media and web content since2006. Before starting the Cinema Production MFA program at USC, Koreny produced and edited video & multimedia content for Tower Records, consulted on the development of start-up social networks, and worked as a freelance graphic designer. During her time at USC she interned for Warner Brother's Marketing Department on the campaigns for Argo, Gangster Squad, The Campaign, and The Great Gatsby. At the Sundance Institute she was one of two interns who worked for the Sundance Documentary Fund, the team of eight screens over 700 films and reviews proposal submissions from documentarians around the world. She is currently interning for the producers of the Emmy award-winning TV show Mad Men. She is currently developing a feature documentary that follows the experiences of female entrepreneurs and VC's, and is developing an application called "Flixie," a start up venture that helps users find content across streaming services.

John Berardo, Writer/Producer
A native of Norman, Oklahoma. John ventured to California to begin his career as a director after winning a 2005 student Emmy for technical achievement. Before starting the Cinema Production MFA program at USC, John received a BA from UCLA in Theatre directing and playwriting with a minor in Film, Television, and Digital Media. At UCLA he directed such plays as A Streetcar Named Desire and Arthur Miller’s controversial After the Fall. This summer John directed his thesis film, The Furies of War, which is to debut spring of 2013. During his time at USC, John has directed, written, and produced numerous short films and commercials for CBS, Disney,Vimeo, and MTV. He recently wrapped short films (Glass People) for David Hoberman and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America and (Strings) produced by James Franco. John is currently developing a feature based on a short horror film he directed (Dembanger) which has received film festival success and won first prize Vimeo’s Cabin in the Woods Short Horror Festival.

Two New My Damn Channel Originals in Production

The next 2 My Damn Channel original comedy series are now in production in New York City and we can’t wait to share them with you!

“The Mark Malkoff Challenge” and “Life: A Gamer’s Guide” have been picked up straight to series with 13 episodes of each ordered by our new partners at MSN. Both series will premiere on MSN Entertainment and will also be available on the My Damn Channel Comedy Network .

Here’s what you need to know:

· He’s raced a New York City bus while riding a Big Wheel, he watched 252 films on Netflix in one month… so what will Mark Malkoff do next? “The Mark Malkoff Challenge” puts this comedian/filmmaker to the test to find out if he can overcome the odds and accomplish unusual feats of bravery on the streets of New York City. “The Mark Malkoff Challenge” will premiere next month on MSN Entertainment’s Comedy and Downtime channels, starring and written by Malkoff, executive produced for MSN by Smita Shukla and produced for My Damn Channel by Dean Peterson.

· “Life: A Gamer’s Guide” features Brian and Mike, good friends and professional gamers who show their audience how gaming techniques can apply to everyday life. Coming from our Hell’s Kitchen studio, it will premiere next month on MSN Entertainment’s Comedy and Nerdcore channels. Executive producers are MSN’s Jeff Purcell and My Damn Channel’s Melissa Schneider. Also for My Damn Channel, Julia Hoff is producer, and Nate Bennett is writer/producer.

I'm flying home from the 30th Birthday of "Just for Laughs" in Montreal -- the annual, best family reunion in comedy. I've just spent 4 daze and nights with many of the world's best comic minds -- and I'm heading into our birthday re-inspired to keep giving you more.

Everything everyone said about being an entrepreneur has turned out to be true. It's been much more rewarding to not work inside the old corporate monoliths of my past: MTV, VH1, CBS. My wife and I have twins who will also soon turn "5." My youngest daughter nearly broke my heart when she asked today why I couldn't have a job that got me home at 3 o'clock in the afternoon every day. She once asked me why I couldn't be a mailman - since he seemed to have to only work in the morning. The hours we all put into a career can be ridiculous and wrong. Jessie: I hope you find this one day and know that this was the night when your Dad started getting so good at his job making videos that he was home more with you and your sister and your brother and your most beautiful and loving mother.

Meet "Save The Supers"

How Many Netflix Movies Can Mark Malkoff Watch?

How many movies can one man watch in one month?

Who hasn't had the fantasy: "I'm going to stay home and watch movies all day. I'm going to catch up on the classics, see all those movies that I never had time to see, hell... I'll maybe I'll even watch a couple of those romantic comedies that my wife is always trying to make me enjoy... just because I CAN. I have Netflix streaming and I have access to a million movies 24 hours a day. WHY CAN'T I JUST STAY HOME AND WATCH MOVIES?"

Verbatim, right? Now you're all, "Get out of my head, My Damn Channel!"

Too late. We're just gonna dig in deeper because Mark Malkoff lived out your Netflix streaming movie watching fantasy and filmed it for us.

For "Netflix Challenge," Mark wanted to see exactly how many movies he could watch for $7.99 per month. Turns out, it's 252.

Before you say, "252? Well that sounds easy as sh*t," think about this: Mark gained 6 pounds by barely moving all month. When he did move, he still had to watch movies on his iPhone and iPad. He started doing bad Jack Nicholson impressions.

Of course, the good parts of this whole thing are that both Andrew McCarthy and Jason London decided to provide him with live commentary of the movies St. Elmo's Fire and Dazed and Confused, respectively.
